CROWNED HEADS ANNOUNCES MIL DIAS MADURO Crowned Heads is excited to announce its latest regular production brand release, “Mil Dfas Maduro,” in partnership with the TacaNicsa factory (Esteli, Nicaragua), the makers of the original Mil Dfas brand. Mil Dias Maduro is a three-viola collection highlighted by a Grade A Dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Habano binder, and all-Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from three regions (Viso Jalapa, Ligero Condega, and Seco Ometepe). “Mil Dias Maduro is an extension to the original Mil Dias brand that we announced back in July of 2020,” explained Crowned Heads co­founder Jon Huber. “What’s important to note, however, is that the Maduro blend is not simply a re-tread of the original blend where we just swapped the wrapper leaf out. Mil Dfas Maduro is an all-new blend from the outside to the inside that we felt was worthy of bearing the Mil Dfas brand name. We began working on the Mil Dias Maduro blend with Eradio Pichardo in the summer of 2023. The result is a cigar with a flavor profile that is dense and lush, layered with notes of dark chocolate, baking spices, with excellent structure and a pepper component that is most noticeable on the retro-hale.” Mil Dfas Maduro will make its global debut at the upcoming Total Product Expo (TPE) trade show to be held January 31-February 2nd at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. With its towering dual 45 feet tall 36” Vendome Copper and Brass Works column stills, Garrard County Distilling Co. is the largest all-new independent distillery in Kentucky. The $250+ million project is capable of producing up to 8.5 million proof gallons or 150,000 barrels of whiskey a year, while supporting the local economy with more than 60+ new jobs. This is the first commercial distillery in the formerly dry county since the 1800s. Located 30 minutes south of Lexington, the 210-acre site includes the 50,000+ sq ft distillery, as well as two 20,000 sq ft rickhouses, with plans for a total of 24 aging warehouses by 2030, each holding nearly 25,000 barrels. A visitor center with tasting room and restaurant is scheduled to open by the end of this year.
