Elijah Craig Bourbon Releases Limited-Edition Toasted Barrel Finished in European Oak Barrels Commemorating the 2023 Ryder Cup (AUGUST 9, 2023) Today, Elijah Craig is proud to announce the release of its Limited-Edition Toasted Barrel finished in European Toasted Oak Barrels to commemorate the 2023 Ryder Cup. Earlier this year, Elijah Craig announced a multi-year partnership which makes the Bourbon brand the “Official Bourbon” and a Worldwide Supplier of the biennial competition. This limited edition starts with fully-matured Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon and finishes it in new European Oak barrels that have been toasted with a profile inspired by those used in the Lazio wine growing region. Lazio wines are grown in and around Rome, Italy, where the 2023 Ryder Cup is being held at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club September 29th through October 1st. The European oak, with its ability to integrate flavors subtly and softly, effortlessly balances the sweetness and spiciness of the Lazio-inspired toast profile and the elevated bright fruit character from the fully-matured Elijah Craig. This edition leads with a nose of caramel and crème brûlée and once tasted, the bright fruit notes burst onto the palate after initial notes of baking spices. The finish is moderately long and is dominated by spice. This release represents a marriage of the U.S. Team’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey – America’s native spirit – with the famed wine growing region and host city of the European Team. Speaking about the release, Max Stefka, Group Product Director, Elijah Craig Bourbon, said: “We are thrilled to raise a glass to the 2023 Ryder Cup with this new limited-edition release of Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel. The unique marriage of toasted European Oak and our extra-aged Kentucky Bourbon offers a taste experience fit for one of the world’s greatest sporting events.” Guy…

CAVALIER GENÈVE CIGARS LIMITED EDITION 2023 Cavalier Genève Cigars announced earlier this week that its Limited Edition 2023 will be showcased during PCA. The LE2023 has been produced in one size only, a 6×54 Toro. For reference, the yearly Cavalier Genève Limited Edition always comes in a single size, which has been known to change over the years. The blend of every release is different from one year to the other and never gets released again. A total of 1948 boxes of 10 cigars have been made, from which just over 1000 will be shipped to retailers across the US. The approximately 900 remaining boxes will be shipping to international markets. “Being completely free to work with any tobacco, experiment, no compromise related to sourcing to ensure continuous volumes, allowing the use of unique, in some cases hard to source, sometimes even particularly difficult to work with, tobaccos to create an uncompromised cigar always is a fantastic process. This year’s LE is no exception to the rule and I will say that I am very pleased with the final result. The cigars will be showcased at the PCA as is customary for us and will then progressively reach retailers across the country in the following weeks.” said Sebastien Decoppet, founder of Cavalier Genève Cigars. MSRP: $14.60 (box of 10, $146.00) As usual for Cavalier’s annual Limited Edition, the blend of the LE2023 remains undisclosed. The Limited Edition as well as all other Cavalier products are hand rolled at Cavalier’s Fabrica Centroamericana de Tabaco SA (FCT).

Warped Cigars Press Release: Black Honey Releasing Fall 2023 We are re-releasing Black Honey at this years PCA. This is the 3rd time the blend has ever been released, the last time in 2017. Black Honey is the interior blend of the La Colmena Unico Especial with the wrapper of El Oso Papa, originally the blend itself was a mistake. Back when we were rolling the original La Colmena Unico Especial at El Titan de Bronze, Sandy had accidentally put the wrong wrapper on the first 600 cigars of the production. When we were down at the factory to check on the production we noticed it and told her to stop, she had used the wrong wrapper. After smoking the first one, we immediately knew we had to call it Black Honey due to its dark honey flavor dominant flavor. We bundled them up and sold them only to 13 retailers back in 2015. We released the blend once again in 2017 and now we will release it once again in 2023. The blend will not be released again for a minimum of 6 years. To this day, Sandy and Giselle still tell us all the time from visitors who walk into the factory or call them directly, asking about Black Honey and if it will/when it will ever return… Well now we can say that it will once again in the Fall of this year. Rolled at El Titan de Bronze, the blend is comprised of Nicaraguan and Dominican Fillers with different dual Ecuadorian binders, and a Ecuadorian Oscuro Wrapper. The body is Medium+. Available in a single vitola, the original 5 x 48 Belicoso in boxes of 10. Rolled by level 9 Master Rolls from Cuba completely, and capped at 100 cigars per day. MSRP is $22.00/cigar or…

Inner Circle Domaine Rouge by Cavalier Genève at PCA Cavalier Genève Cigars announces the new Domaine Rouge by Cavalier Genève as regular production addition to its Inner Circle cigar line at PCA this year. “Domaine Rouge by Cavalier Genève” is a new addition to its brand Inner Circle which first officially showcased during last year’s PCA. Domaine Rouge refers to Cavalier’s factory in Honduras, the Fabrica Centroamericana de Tabaco SA (FCT), which happens to be of red-ish color. As Inner Circle did, Domaine Rouge pays homage to the people that influenced the history of the company; in this case, a tribute to founder Sebastien Decoppet’s father, Pascal Decoppet, who passed away in 2021. Pascal Decoppet was born in 1956, the date seen on the Domaine Rouge cigar boxes, designed with the aesthetics of classic wines and wineries in mind. In addition to cigars, classic wines also brought Sebastien and his father together. Several other subtle visual references to Pascal can be found on the Inner Circle and Domaine Rouge boxes. “Like the Inner Circle, which was created as an ongoing tribute to the people that support Cavalier Genève Cigars – some from day one, some as of yesterday, today and for some tomorrow, making every step of the way possible, creating jobs for so many, giving the brand a life of its own, the factory and all its people – the new Domaine Rouge is a legacy and remembrance of my father who I’m sure would have been as grateful as we all are to see Cavalier come so far,” said Decoppet. Inner Circle Domaine Rouge by Cavalier Genève is made available in four sizes: Petit Robusto, 4.5×50, 24 count cabinet Robusto Grande, 5×54, 24 count cabinet Toro, 6×52, 24 count cabinet Figurado, 6×52, 24 count cabinet The Domaine Rouge…

Congratulations to @bertbesmokin1868 on winning the April Pairing of the Month.  Below is his pairing review! Cigar Pairing Rojas Unfinished Business with Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge I went with the Rojas Unfinished Business Mareva, Box Press, by Noel Rojas with one of my favorite liqueurs Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge for my Pairing of the Month for April. This was a blind pairing but with it being an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Nicaraguan Binder, Nicaraguan & Mexico filler, and the bitter orange, hazelnuts, and toffee in the drink; I just knew it was going to be an amazing pairing. The cigar had caramel and semi-sweet chocolate smell to it, on the cap and foot was a smell of chocolate. I decided to go with a V-cut and immediately from the cold draw I got hints of hazelnuts, cayenne, and hay. As soon as I got through the first third of the cigar I was hit with spices, the drink to Cigar was excellent. The cognac in the Grand Marnier brought out the woody and black peppercorn spices followed by an orange after taste that lingered in my mouth. The cigar to drink also yielded strong hints of black peppercorn which overpowered the citrus but still paired nicely with the cognac’s subtle spices. I continued to the second third, and it paired beautifully both ways from drink to cigar AND cigar to drink. The chocolate espresso and creamy coffee notes from the cigar with the spices of hazelnuts from the cognac made every puff enjoyable. The citrus aftertaste was also a big plus, almost like a chocolate orange coffee taste. Lastly, the final third. Wow, this last part took me by surprise, the creamy dark espresso, malty chocolate, and sweet cocoa notes of the cigar with the drink turned into an orange…
